How do automobile die manufacturers classify stamping dies

There are many forms of stamping dies. Automobile die manufacturers will tell you how to classify them. Stamping dies are also classified according to working characteristics, die structure and die materials.

I Automobile mold manufacturers classify according to the degree of process combination

A. Single process Die: a die that completes only one stamping process in a stroke of the press.

Compound die: in a stroke of the press, only one station and two or more stamping processes are completed at the same station.

C. Progressive die (also known as continuous die): a die with two or more stations in the blank feeding direction. In this die, two or more stamping processes are completed successively at different stations in one stroke of the press.

2、 Automobile mold manufacturers are classified according to the processing methods of mold products

According to different processing methods, molds can be divided into five categories: stamping and shearing molds, bending molds, stretching molds, forming molds and compression molds.

A. Punching and shearing die: the work is completed by shearing. The common forms include cutting die, blanking die, punching die, trimming die, trimming die, broaching die and punching die.

B. Bending die: the flat billet is bent into an angle. According to the shape, accuracy and output of parts, there are many different types of dies, such as ordinary bending die, cam bending die, crimping die, arc bending die, bending stamping die and torsion die.

C. Drawing die: the drawing die is to make the flat blank into a seamless container with a bottom.

D. Forming die: various local deformation methods are used to change the blank shape, including bulging die, edging die, necking die, hole flange die and round edge die.

E. Die: it uses strong pressure to make the metal blank flow and deform into the required shape. Its types include extrusion die, embossing die, stamping die and end die.
